The loss-of-function (LoF) variants of the neuroligin 3 (NLGN3) gene, a known autism risk factor, were found in two unrelated patients co-presenting with genetic disorders (GD) and neurodevelopmental traits after differential expression and filtering of transcripts. Though patient navigation has demonstrated potential for enhancing involvement in colorectal cancer (CRC) screening and post-diagnosis follow-up, the evidence for its effective application in real-world clinical scenarios is limited. Within the framework of the National Cancer Institute's Cancer MoonshotSM ACCSIS initiative, we delineate eight patient navigation programs implemented as part of multi-faceted interventions.
Based on the domains of the ACCSIS framework, we developed an organized data collection template. The template was completed by a representative assigned to each of the eight ACCSIS research endeavors. We present a standardized account of 1) the socio-ecological context surrounding the navigation program, 2) program characteristics, 3) implementation-supporting activities (like training), and 4) evaluation outcomes.
Regarding ACCSIS patient navigation programs, their socio-ecological context, target populations, and implementation methods varied widely and comprehensively. Of the six research projects, a subset adapted and implemented existing evidence-based patient navigation programs, with the rest creating new ones. Five projects initiated navigation at the time of scheduled initial colorectal cancer screenings, whereas three other projects initiated navigation at a later stage, when follow-up colonoscopies were mandated due to abnormal stool results. Seven projects relied on pre-existing clinical staff for navigation, yet one project utilized a centrally located research navigator. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are significantly involved in the developmental pathways that shape skeletal muscle. However, a paucity of information pertains to goats. Comparative RNA sequencing was utilized to analyze the expression profiles of lncRNAs in the Longissimus dorsi muscle of Liaoning cashmere (LC) and Ziwuling black (ZB) goats, demonstrating variations in meat output and quality. Employing our previously generated microRNA (miRNA) and mRNA expression profiles from the same tissues, we ascertained the target genes and binding miRNAs for differentially expressed long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs). Next, lncRNA-mRNA interaction networks and a ceRNA network that involves lncRNA, miRNA, and mRNA were created. Distinguishing the two breeds revealed 136 lncRNAs with differing levels of expression.
